DMCA Policy

Effective May 12, 2026

AnimeKuni, Inc. respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (the "DMCA"). This page explains how to submit a copyright infringement notice (a "Takedown Notice") and how to submit a counter-notice if you believe content of yours was removed in error.

1. Designated Copyright Agent

AnimeKuni has designated the following agent to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement, pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 512(c):

DMCA Designated Agent
AnimeKuni, Inc.
Attn: Copyright Agent
[Mailing address — to be filed with the U.S. Copyright Office before launch]
Email: dmca@animekuni.com
Phone: [To be added before launch]

Note: AnimeKuni will register this designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office Directory (www.copyright.gov/dmca-directory) prior to public launch, as required to claim the safe harbor under 17 U.S.C. § 512.

2. Submitting a Takedown Notice

To submit a notice of copyright infringement, please provide our designated agent with a written communication that includes all of the following (failure to include any of these elements may result in your notice being invalid under the DMCA):

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list).
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, with information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material — please include the full URL on AnimeKuni.
  • Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, including your address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Send completed notices to dmca@animekuni.com or by mail to the address above. You can also submit a takedown report through the in-product report flow on any video page; choose "Copyright violation" as the reason.

Important: Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. Do not make false claims.

3. What Happens After a Valid Notice

Upon receipt of a valid Takedown Notice, we will:

  • Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
  • Notify the user who uploaded the material that it has been removed pursuant to a DMCA notice.
  • Record the notice in our internal moderation log.

4. Counter-Notice Procedure

If you are a user whose content was removed pursuant to a Takedown Notice and you believe the removal was in error or that you have the right to use the material, you may submit a counter-notice. Your counter-notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the U.S., for any judicial district in which AnimeKuni may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification or an agent of that person.

Send counter-notices to dmca@animekuni.com.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file an action seeking a court order against you within 10 business days, we may restore the removed material at our discretion.

5. Repeat-Infringer Policy

AnimeKuni maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. We track DMCA strikes on each user account; three valid, uncontested DMCA strikes within a 12-month period will result in termination of the account and forfeiture of any pending creator payouts associated with infringing content.

6. Questions

If you have questions about this policy or about a specific takedown, contact dmca@animekuni.com. This page does not constitute legal advice; consider consulting an attorney before submitting a notice or counter-notice.
